Cajsa Godée (she/they) is a queer dancer and choreographer based in Berlin and Stockholm. Cajsa’s performative work explores themes around desire and intimacy from a queer experience. Often approached with a touch of humor, Cajsa builds intimate settings with room for spontaneity in the meeting between the performers and the audience. They presents their own work on stages, in clubs, and in public spaces and has an interest in how different environments and encounters impact the performance and keep it in a state of constant change. They are driven to create both spontaneous creations, the ones of a specific day, and the ones that are molded over time. Both as a dancer and creator, Cajsa works with a mix of different performative practices and somatic movement practices. Her dance foundation is within groove oriented styles and club dances, especially locking and popping, and was acquired and developed in the Swedish Streetdance community. Creating together in collectives and duos has been a foundation in Cajsa’s art-making over the years, and she prefers working in groups where many different experiences come together and converse. Spanning from the work with the collective JUCK (Thrust), formed in 2012, whose work has been shown worldwide at venues such as Sophiensaele (Berlin), GAM (Santiago), and Dansens Hus (Stockholm), to making queer-themed dance movies with her parents in a kitchen, their work ranges from full-production stage performances to DIY multidisciplinary works. Cajsa creates together as a duo with the dance and performance artist Xirley Harthey Ubilla. Their last full-length piece, “Lez Dance - Dyke Camp,” premiered at MDT in Sweden in 2024 and played at Kiasma Theatre in Finland in 2025. During the last year, Cajsa has appeared in a series of performances in the Berlin queer performance and club scene, such as Fag Bar, Slit, Queer Performance Festival, Physical Relics, and more. They are currently active as a dancer in pieces by the choreographers Mona Namér, Lisa Janbell, Ellen Söderhult, and Layton Lachman. Cajsa graduated from the bachelor-programme Dance, Context and Choreography at Universität der Künste, berlin, in 2019.
